Orissa players disappoint in U-11 chess Nationals

Orissa`s much hyped campaign in the National Under-11 Chess Championship ended in disappointment at Chennai today as none of the 20 players could win a medal. Among 14 players competing in boys section, Subhasis Barik occupied the highest position at 12, while Sribrinda Rout claimed the top place of 18th among six players in girls category.

In the 11-round championship, Tamil Nadu boy Aravindh Chithambaram and Andhra Pradesh girl Priyamvada Karmcheti emerged champions, securing 9.5 and 10 points respectively.
